Accessible information takes defective lifts into account

For passengers who need an accessible connection, VBB Journey Information provides information about defective lifts in the Berlin S-Bahn and underground network each time a connection query is made.

Since 26 May 2020, lift disruptions are actively taken into account in the fully accessible route search: If there is a lift disruption  on the planned route, a diversion is automatically calculated via a route without defective lifts. This works both in the Journey Information at www.vbb.de/fahrinfo as well as in the VBB-App Bus&Bahn and in the VBB easy

With the support of S-Bahn Berlin and BVG, the non-profit organisation SOZIALHELDEN e. V. collects data on defective lifts and publishes it in a table on its own project page brokenlifts.org. VBB Journey Information can access  this data and therefore automatically display the current lift disruptions in the route details and calculate alternative routes when searching for a connection:

In the advanced accessible connection search, VBB Journey Information informs you in the route overview whether there are current notifications  for the start or end station or for the transfer station. You can then choose another route suggestion from the list or customise the search settings so that a route is calculated via other transfer points.
